Why get married in Anguilla?

Renowned for its superb beaches, Anguilla is one of the most exclusive and laid back Caribbean desitnations. A true paradise, with endless stretches of beautiful white-coral sand, hidden coves and half moon bays, it is the perfect backdrop for a romantic Caribbean wedding.

Getting married in Anguilla is fairly easy, if you follow the requirements.

Anguilla wedding requirements in brief...

Both the bride and groom must be present on the island for three working days prior to the ceremony and attend the Court Registry to make their application for marriage (the document processing time is 48 hours).

Documents required:

  • proof of identity / citizenship (birth certificate or valid passport plus drivers licence with photo)
  • proof of status – if single a declaration is signed; if married previously, present original divorce documents (Decree Absolute) or death certificate
  • if either party has had their name changed by deed poll, legal proof is required which has been certified by a solicitor or lawyer. This is also the case if a previously married woman has reverted to her maiden name
  • if either party has been adopted then an original copy of the certificate is required, or a certified copy
  • written parental consent if either party is under the age of 18

Fees and stamp duty are payable and all documents not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.

The marriage must be celebrated in the presence of two or more witnesses
