Dominica wedding requirements in brief...
You need to be present on the island for 4 days before the marriage (the 3rd day being a working day).
Documents required (all must be originals or certified copies):
- certificate of non-marriage or non-impediment
- 1 passport sizes photo each
- if previously married, the divorce papers or death certificate
You can obtain application forms for a ‘Special Marriage Licence’ from the Ministry of Community Development located in the Government Headquarters on Hillsborough Street.
The application form must be signed by both parties and witnessed by a Magistrate, the completed declaration must be signed by both parties before a Commissioner of Oath.
The Registry Office and Magistrate Office are both located on the Bayfront in Roseau, the best time to see a Magistrate is before 9am.
