Getting married in Antigua is easy if you ensure that you have all the necessary documents, which we outline below:
- If you are getting married in Antigua you need to be present in the country for at least one working day beforehand to process the necessary documents.
- Couples will need to visit the Ministry of Justice, with valid passports, to complete the application and pay the licence fees.
- Documents required are: valid passport, original or certified copy of birth certificate, flight or e-ticket information. If either party have been married previously they need to show an original or certified copy of the Decree Absolute. If either party are widowed then an original or certified copy of the previous marriage certificate and death certificate are required. Any documents not in English must have a certified translation.
- Two witnesses are required.
- Parental consent is required if either party are under 18 years of age.
- If either party has changed their name by deed pool, legal proof is required.
- If either party has been adopted, an original or certified copy of the certificate is required.
