Why choose Dominica?

As the ‘nature island’ of the Caribbean, Dominica is lush and unspoilt, and offers a range of stunning locations for your special day – amongst the rare and unusual nature of the rainforest, on a secluded soft sand beach looking out over the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, or by one of the many dramatic and beautiful waterfalls on the island, your wedding day will be unforgettable.

Dominica wedding requirements in brief...

Both the bride and groom must be present on the island for at least two days prior to the application for marriage. Form ‘G’ must be filled out and signed in front of a witness, and the declaration form must also be signed by both parties before a Commissioner of Oath.

Documents required:

  • proof of identity / citizenship (birth certificate or valid passport plus drivers licence with photo)
  • proof of status – if single a certificate of non-impediment/non-marriage is required; if married previously, present original divorce documents (Decree Absolute) or death certificate
  • if either party has had their name changed by deed poll, legal proof is required which has been certified by a solicitor or lawyer. This is also the case if a previously married woman has reverted to her maiden name
  • if either party has been adopted then an original copy of the certificate is required, or a certified copy
  • written parental consent if either party is under the age of 18
  • a passport photo of each party

Fees and stamp duty are payable and all documents not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.
